“The sports, community, and recreation space is an exciting industry that is looking for modern technology solutions” said Eric Kafka, Partner at Vertu Capital. “Amilia has built a robust, mission-critical platform while developing a reputation for excellent customer satisfaction. We see significant potential to further scale their product offering and market reach.” As part of the transaction, Mr. Kafka will be joining Amilia’s Board of Directors.

Amilia’s end-to-end platform allows recreation service providers to seamlessly automate activity registration, membership management, financial reporting and payments, among other functions. The company works with more than 6,600 recreation facilities across North America, including YMCAs, JCCs, municipal parks and recreation departments, camps and after school programs, serving over one million participants and processing nearly $1 billion of payments annually.

“We chose to partner with Vertu Capital because they believe in our mission as strongly as we do,” said Hugo Lachance, CEO of Amilia. “At this pivotal moment in our growth journey, we’ve aligned with them as a trusted partner who brings the strategic expertise to help us meaningfully scale the business. At a time when other providers in our industry are pulling back on product investment, Vertu supports our commitment to accelerating innovation. Together, we believe our customers deserve the most advanced, efficient, and future-ready technology to run their operations and strengthen their community impacts.”

Amilia marks the fifth platform investment for Vertu Fund I and Vertu Capital’s first investment in the province of Quebec.

“Quebec has a history of building worldclass technology businesses. We are very pleased to be investing in this dynamic ecosystem,” said Lisa Melchior, Founder and Managing Partner at Vertu Capital. “Vertu has a very deliberate strategy of partnering with market leading technology businesses with global growth potential across Canada.
